Glen Canyon Recreation Center
Description
Located in the Glen Park neighborhood, the Glen Canyon Recreation Center, built in 1937, sits at the foot of Glen Canyon - one of San Francisco’s best preserved natural areas. The renovation of the recreation center restored the historic gymnasium and auditorium to their former glory, with new well-defined entryways and expanded multi-purpose spaces linking the building to its community and spectacular setting. Designed to reach
LEED Gold Certification, the renovation project will unite the historic architecture with modern technology in a seismically safe, environmentally sensitive building that serves local residents and visitors.
